There have been no official suspects since the murders were committed. There is the original Person of Interest.
There is also an emerging suspect in the person of Kevin Sweat, who was apparently questioned early on in regards the murders. There is good reason to look at him closely.A multicounty grand jury returned no indictments after questioning at least three men who had fallen under suspicion in the homicides. Among those brought in for questioning are Toney Kelough Jr., Mike Gaddy, Dustyn Dailey, Larry Peyton Smith, and Windy Espinosa. The public was not allowed access to the hearings.
Two guns were used in the murders. Two different calibers were used on each victim.
It is unknown, but it could be possible that more than one person was involved in this crime.
The OSBI has crossed state lines in their investigation, but feel strongly that the perpetrator(s) is local because the attack occurred in such a remote area.
